Why Travelers Choose This Tour

Ascend to the “top of Europe,” and enjoy unparalleled views, when you take the train up to Jungfraujoch.
Greet your guide in a central Zurich location and climb aboard a comfortable coach destined for Grindelwald. Receive a fascinating introduction to the Bernese Oberland region as you travel through the beautiful countryside and then refresh with a hot beverage (own expense) during a brief interlude in Interlaken.

Travel onward to Grindelwald to board the cogwheel train headed to one of Europe’s highest points. Marvel at dramatic mountain scenery during the 1.5-hour ride up the UNESCO-listed Jungfraujoch mountain pass, and scour the horizon for the jagged peaks of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains.

On arrival at the 11,332-foot (3,454-meter) summit, gaze at mind blowing views of the Alpine wonderland below, and then ascend to the Sphinx Observatory for even more magnificent panoramas. Try to spot the craggy peak of the Aletsch Glacier, Europe’s longest glacier, and then explore the frozen tunnels of the Ice Palace during an enchanting guided tour.

Opt to enjoy a fulfilling meal at one of the many rustic restaurants at the summit (own expense) and then re-board the train for the journey to Lauterbrunnen, where your coach awaits. Relax during the journey back to Zurich, where the tour concludes.

Wonderful time in Jungfraujoch
Jayson

I really enjoyed the Trip. Our guide Maude was very helpful. She gave a commentary from the time we pulled out of the bus parking lot until we got to each activity. I personally enjoy learning about the towns and sites we are just passing by as well as the destination. Dan was also another guide on the trip who was very helpful hearing the group. The stops were wonderful, I only wish we had more time at each one. Jungfraujoch was magnificent. I loved the Ice tunnels.

Had a magnificent time. Long bus and train rides from Zurich, but the experience was well worth it. Our guides were very informative and easy to understand. And the bus driver was very skilled along the mountainous terrain. Simply put, Awesome.

A Disappointment

The trip was overall disappointing. They mislead me about how long we would have in Interlaken. We had less than 10 minutes to explore and the options they gave us were a Hooters, and 2 touristy stores. We weren’t even in the historic part of town. They did not guide us really at all. I at least hoped to learn something from them but I learned more from a stranger on the train in 5 minutes than from them. The only benefit is that it was easy to follow them so I could get to and from Zurich. When I expressed my concerns with the trip, they blamed it on me for ruining the trip. So be cautious when reading reviews from them. They have proven themselves liars on multiple occasions. I would not take this trip or anything from this company.

Dear Eliza, Thank you again for sharing your experience of our tour to Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe. In the hope of being able to finally solve this matter, we would like to give you, as well as other travelers, an explanation from our side and thus view the problem from a more holistic perspective. Generally, we include a stop of approx. 45 minutes in Interlaken, which gives our guests a break from the 2 ½-hour journey from Zürich already behind them and a chance to grab a snack, to do some shopping or to go sightseeing before proceeding to Grindelwald. From the drop off location in the city center, historic landmarks such as the Victoria-Jungfrau Grand Hotel & Spa can easily be reached within 3-5 minutes' walking distance. When following up your original review with your tour guide Marcel, we took the time to check our records and the bus recording system that tracks bus stops and journey times to ensure that drivers' rest periods are respected. As the bus was missing guests in Zürich and Lucerne and was faced with unfavorable traffic conditions, the time in Interlaken was limited to 25 instead of 45 minutes Unfortunately, your name was marked on the list of missing guests that held up the bus, which we thought was only fair to mention. If the guest list has been checked incorrectly and your name has been wrongly noted down, we would sincerely like to apologize on his behalf and on behalf of Best of Switzerland Tours for the misunderstanding. We have answered your review to the best of our knowledge and belief without any intention of blaming you or misleading future guests, but with the intention of giving a possible explanation for the bad review from our point of view. We apologize for having made you feel accused by our answer, which we can assure you has never been our slightest intention. We hope that you enjoyed your stay in Switzerland despite this unfortunate incident and will do everything possible to avoid similar incidents in the future. Sincerely, Best of Switzerland Tours

A wonderful experience

I took the trip with my parents (both are I over 65). The trip lasts for about 12 hours. We had two tour guides , Larse and Liwei, both are very friendly and helpful. They introduced the history and background of the cities/towns that we drove by making the whole trip very interesting. More importantly , the price includes all tickets (coach, several trains). It is a stress free. The view on top of the mountain is amazing.

Wonderful Day Excursion

The tour was very well organized, with Swiss precision! From Zurich, there were a few stops, in Lucerne and Interlaken for additional pickups. We spent 40 minutes in Interlaken to walk around main street, and 2+ hours at the main attraction, atop of Jungfraujoch, it was stunningly beautiful.

Mt. Titlis vs Jungfraujoch
colinray08
, Jan 2020
Unfortunately due to weather we weren’t able to go on the Jungfraujoch tour that we originally booked. We ended up going to Mt. Titlis which was very unfortunate. We ended up not even being able to go to the top point at Mt. Titlis because of weather and wind as well. While it’s beautiful, we had 4 hours to site-see at Mt. Titlis which could have easily been accomplished in an hour. My husband and I sat for 3 hours and waited until we could get back onto the bus. We then made an additional stop in Lucerne for an hour and a half which was a waste of time. The most frustrating part of the tour was the guide. He was fairly rude — telling us that we would be left in Lucerne if we weren’t back on the bus by x time which felt a bit aggressive. We would not recommend this tour.

Dear Colin Ray, Thank you very much for joining our tour to Mt. Titlis, which was offered as an alternative to Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe. We are truly sorry to hear that your experience was hindered by such unfortunate weather conditions. All our excursions take place as planned regardless of the weather. Only the exceptional case that partners (such as cable car companies) must close lifts and railways for safety reasons, the programme will be amended and an alternative attraction will be visited. Unfortunately, the TITLIS cableways had only communicated the partial closure of Mt. Titlis when we were already on our way. As many of our guests only have limited time to discover Switzerland, we wanted to offer you a similar experience rather than abandon the tour and return to Zurich. As we can totally understand that the tour did not meet your expectations, we have authorized a partial refund of CHF 125.- per person through your agency. Instead of extending your stay at the middle station called “Trübsee” to more than 4 hours, our tour guide decided to give you the chance to further explore Lucerne instead. As one of the most charming cities in Switzerland, Lucerne offers the perfect opportunity to have a late lunch or early dinner, to do some shopping or to go sightseeing before returning to Zürich. Unfortunately, we are faced with late arrivals day in and out, which is why our tour guides emphasized that it is essential for the success of the tour that all guests are back on time. However, we are sorry to hear that the message came across as aggressive and would like to apologize on behalf of our tour guide and Best of Switzerland Tours. We hope that you were still able to enjoy a wonderful stay in Switzerland and look forward to welcoming you back on one of our tours on your next trip to Zürich. Best regards, Best of Switzerland Tours
