Greet your expert guide at a central Zurich location and climb aboard an air-conditioned coach for a panoramic tour of Zurich, a city considered Switzerland’s cultural capital. Admire the rich architectural array and hear tales of Zurich’s prosperous past before travelling to Rapperswil, a charming medieval town known as the ‘City of Roses’.

On arrival, marvel at the towering turrets of the medieval castle and then enjoy some leisurely free time to explore independently. Return to your vehicle and capture panoramic photographs of the Alps as you cross the Ricken Pass and arrive in Toggenberg, a gorgeous region replete with swooping valleys and beautiful mountain scenery.

Next, cross the border to Vaduz, capital of the minute Principality of Liechtenstein, and spend more leisurely free time discovering the charm of the city. Visit the Post Office to catch a glimpse of its highly prized stamps and then return to the coach for the short journey to Maienfield, the stunning setting of the Heidi stories.

Take a pleasant stroll to a collection of mountain houses and absorb incredible views of the surrounding mountains. Opt to visit the Heidi House at your own expense and then gaze at the picturesque banks of Lake Walen as you travel back to Zurich by coach.

Please note: In wintertime, visit the quaint village of Werdenberg instead of Heidi-Village.

Nice experience

It was a very nice experience! We visited some fantastic places, although if you do not buy a ticket in Heidiland (extra expense) you cannot see almost anything of the place. Our guide, Walter, was very nice and he gave good explanations. Despite all that, we booked the excursion in Spanish and he had almost no clue about it, although he tried to make the explanations in Spanish. The wifi of the bus was not working neither.

Great day, with great guide

Our guide Walter provided excellent commentary throughout the tour. Rapperswil was lovely. I only wish we could have travelled the first leg from Zurich to Rapperswil by boat and been picked up by bus there for the remainder of the tour.

Tour was fine but Heidiland is just a tourist trap. The time in Lichtenstein was enough but was not organised.

We thank you for your feedback and we very much regret that we did not meet your expectations. We would like to explain: Heidiland as the home of the famous children's book characters Heidi and Peter is located in the east of Switzerland in the cantons of St. Gallen and Graubünden and extends from Weesen to Trimmis, from Lake Walen to the Bündner Herrschaft on an area of 700 km². This large region is many countryside and offers beautiful changing sceneries. In Maienfeld we visit the HeidiVillage where the authentic Heidihouse is which serves as a museum (entrance is optional) and the area is just countryside with little naughty goats. The kiosk offers many souvenirs in connection with the children book ‘Heidi’. We are pleased that you enjoyed more the visit to Vaduz in the principality of Liechtenstein. Many thanks.

The scenery is absolutely incredible! Even if you’re unfamiliar with the Heidi books it’s worth it for the beauty of the place. Everywhere looks like a postcard. Our guide, Walter, was friendly and informative

Friendly and Knowledgeable Guide

The guide was friendly and knowledgeable. I only wish we had more free time, even if it meant starting the tour earlier in the morning. The portions of the tour that was on foot needed more time at those locations.

If you know/love Heidi’s story and the mountains, this trip is definitely for you!

Our tour guide Walter was amazing! Very knowledgeable and have a sense of humour, which kept the group alive! The only thing with this trip was there wasn’t enough time for Heidiland. It felt like we were rushed to go around the Heididorf & gift shop. Nevertheless it was amazing! I went Aug. 3, and the sun was sizzling hot! Make sure you dress appropriately. Have a light umbrella, a hand/portable fan, and a refillable water bottle. There’s a cold drinkable fountain right in front of the gift shop. Will definitely recommend this trip!

Great tour

Wonderful tour! Despite the hot weather our tour guide was engaging and knowledgeable. The scenery is beautiful and the pace of the tour is leisurely. We only had around 20 people in our group which was the perfect size. Rapperswill is beautiful and Heidiland is very cute. I will say I would love if the stop in Vaduz was extended so that we could have gotten to visit the castle but other than that it was a lovely day! I was on the fence about this as I thought it might be too “touristy” and crowded but no place we visited was too crowded and every place was beautiful. Also, I am a woman traveling alone and I notified that this tour had about 4 other single women travelers - so definitely very safe and a great thing to do if you are in the same boat and want to make some friends :)

A Very Enjoyable Tour
AislingMary_O
, Jul 2022
A very enjoyable trip! Lots of wonderful sights to be seen in Zurich, Heidiland and Vaduz. The views along the journey were amazing! There was plenty of time spent at each location to look around and explore. Mike, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of interesting information on the sights throughout the tour. Tony, the bus driver, got us all there safely. Both were very nice and pleasant, too. I highly recommend this tour!

Nice day trip

Nice day trip...really liked seeing another little country. The biggest negative was not being dropped off at the bus station. It took an extra 45 to locate the bus station and find wifi to get an Uber.

Many thanks for taking the time to send us a review. We are pleased to read that you liked the routing, scenery and the visits. The unpleasant experience caused that the tour did not end back at the Bus Terminal is very regrettable. It has become a preferred drop-off location, on the front side of the main station, so that our customers can save the 200 meter walking distance from the Bus Terminal to the train station (city center). But of course this is not an advantage if you can't find your way.

Solid experience but bring your fan.

Lovely views and educational experience overall. Armando was a solid guide. Deducted one star because despite repeated requests to increase cooling on the very, very warm and humid day, the bus remained too hot. The bus looked relatively new and I believe the owner of the tour company was operating the bus.

Our favorite part of this...
Melissa_M
, Jul 2022
Our favorite part of this your eas Rapperswil. It was such a picturesque town with great food and photo opportunities. Our tour guide was also great - very friendly and provided lots of information. My main complaint would be that there wasn't ample time to really explore places. Everywhere we went felt very rushed. And it would've been nice if the admission into the Heidi houses was included. But overall the scenery was beautiful.

I'm so glad I took this tour. I loved all of our stops and our tour guide was funny and informative. Rapperswil was my favorite stop. The food was delicious and the town was charming. I wish we had an exra hour in Rapperswil. Bring your passport if you want to get it stamped in Liechtenstein. It costs 2 or 3 Euros, I can't remember which. The bus doesn't have USB plugs to charge your phone, but I did see outlets along each window side seat, so bring your European plug.

Quick day trip to Liechtenstein
Carolyn_B
, Jul 2022
You spend most of the tour going to different places in Switzerland like Heidiland but it is also a good tour to add Liechtenstein to your traveled list. You get about an hours worth of free time at each stop and that’s really all you need.

Nice day trip from Zurich. Enjoyed being able to get to Liechtenstein and getting my passport stamped. Beautiful scenery and a comfortable ride. Saw some raptors and storks.
