My husband and I booked this trip so that we could both take part in the wine tasting without one of us becoming 'designated driver'. Overall, it was an enjoyable trip with a comfortable air conditioned minbus to transport us through the beautiful Tuscan countryside between San Gimignano and Montalcino. There were 2 other couples in addition to us so small enough to be a friendly group. We enjoyed the tour of the Brunello 'museum' learning lots about our favourite wine. The tasting was interesting and we loved the 2010 reserve. The octogenarian owner had a lot to learn about personal space and women's lib!. The main down point was our driver/escort, Tomas. Whilst initially being polite and amusing, he was a young Italian who in the latter part of the trip seemed to be determined to demonstrate exactly how 'pazzo' Italian drivers could be. We have been driving in Italy for over 20 years and were happy to accept to tailgating and to some extent, the hands off the wheel to gesticulate whilst turning around to talk to us. However, he lost his tip when, after a couple of miles of dangerous tailgating, he undercut the car on a tight, sharply bending motorway slip road, taking the bend so fast that, to the screeching of tyres, we all felt that the minibus would surely tip over. We didn't appreciate that at all, followed by the bragging about how he could get his Fiat Panda to 190kph! In GB, we call this type of young lad a 'townie-boy racer.' I would fully recommend the trip with a different driver.
