Discover the Berber villages of the Atlas Mountains on a full-day trip from Marrakech that explores broad valleys and lush orchards with views of Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa. Ride a camel through a broad gorge, pause for tea in Imlil Valley, then hike to the isolated village of Ait Souka to share a meal in a Berber family’s home. Throughout the day, take in the mountains’ beautiful scenery: terraced gardens that climb steep hillsides, tumbling waterfalls, and an alpine kasbah.

Fantastic tour of Atlas Mountains
, Mar 2020
Mohammad was a fantastic guide. He was really helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The day itself was really great. I wasn’t looking forward to the camel ride but you could see that the camels were well cared for. The family dress you up and then put you on the camels who all have names and then you ride for about 20 minutes. Then you drive up into the mountains (where it is lovely and cool). Mohammad makes sure there are plenty of photo stops. We then went for lunch which cost roughly £6.50. It was bread, rice, a chicken ravine with banana and blood orange to finish with bottled water to drink, it was lovely. We then had a guided walk to the waterfall and back down to the lower village. You then stop to see the local ladies milling argon oil, they explain all the uses and show you their products at no time did I feel pressured to buy anything. I would recommend this tour to anyone although for the hike you need to be mobile. You can opt out of the hike, camel ride, lunch etc. Thank you Mohammad you were amazing
As described. V good.

AMAZING in everyway

Amazing in everyway, the views, the food, the atmosphere and the people . Our guide Omar was fab.... friendly, funny and very accommodating. He’s very entertaining and let us know history and where we were every step of the way . 10 stars from us !!!!! The actual trip was breathtaking, views of the mountains, stop overs for tea are well chosen, camel ride was better than I expected with outfits and picture taking .
Marrakech Atlas Mountains Experience
, Feb 2020
Excellent trip, very enjoyable experience we say all the sites specified with lots of time to enjoy the scenery and take pictures. The Valleys and Atlas Mountains were spectacular and we enjoyed a typical Moroccan breakfast and lunch. The Camel ride was well organised with suitable clothing, very safety minded and the condition of the Camels was good, we also enjoyed Moroccan tea. The trip was enhanced by the quality of the guide Lahcen Talb who was an excellent communicator, very friendly, safety minded and caring. The driver Yousef was also first class, safely minded and quality driver.

Despite booking less than 2 days ahead and missing my pickup time notification, the driver Mohammed came to the reception to ask for me and was really patient with me as I got ready having woken up sick with a nasty cough. The briefings were timely and perfectly delivered in plain English by guide, Mohammed (yes another Mohammed :)) who was equally really kind and caring ... and ended up being my photographer for the day too. What a cool dude! I enjoyed all aspects of the tour, you get whatever you put into it I guess. Can’t complain. You need to be reasonably fit to climb the Atlas mountain’s valleys. With some encouragement from the guide, I ended up doing the camel ride too. Discovering I was sick, the guide offered that I sat next to him in front relieving me of the shame of being a nuisance to other passengers. Both checked on my welfare all through the day, even stopped by at the pharmacy for me to pick up medication and also stopped by at a shop for me on my way back to my hotel, which was very far away from the Centre. What a lovely safe company to have. Will definitely recommend!
Very nice, very personal tour

This was a really nice tour. Lahcen was a great guide. We meet his family and had tea with them in his house in the 5 Villages area. The hike to the falls is not for everyone and proper shoes etc... are advised. I would not do the camel ride again. The camels did not look to be well cared for. One of them had the rope over its snout cutting deeply into its flesh. Overall, a great trip. The small, villages stood in sharp contrast to the madness of the Medina in Marrakech.
Great and complete tour

A great and very complete tour. The guys (driver and guide) were absolute gentleman and good fun. Highly recommend
Disappointing but to be expected

Bottom line, the tour was disappointing. Perhaps not much can be asked given it is fairly close to Marrakesh. My suggestion is to go on a longer tour that takes you to more interesting places. The waterfall is maybe 4m tall, hardly exciting. The trek to get there and back is littered with rubbish and plastic, which is very sad. The Berber villages are interesting but frankly not very historical, most buildings are reinforced concrete from the '70s. Still, one gets to see a completely different reality and can't help thinking how lucky we are. It's a good reality check, especially for teens. The camel ride is the most touristic thing i have done in my life (rightly so, perhaps. What else can one expect?). It's not really in the desert (which can be seen from afar ), it's in a dusty field next to the main road. Still it was relatively good fun and the kids enjoyed it. The most interesting part was the market on a village on the way to the mountains (this absolutely authentic - an eye opener) and the drive from the valley to the camel ride. You go through a highland with beautiful views. Last but not least: half of the pictures presented by viator are not realistic. You better check and rely only on the pics taken by customers which can be seen in their reviews on tripadvisor. I suggest you read the poor reviews, it gives you an insight as to why this tour appears to be rated so well by more than 90% of customers.
