Less touristic than expected!
, Mar 2020
We are a school group from Norway that did this excursion with Nassim (tour guide) and Najeem(driver) and we were really taken by positive surprise with the experience as a whole. A blessed and calming escape from noisy Marrakech and not too touristic. Even though the beginning of the excursion includes two stops where you have the option to buy things, we still really enjoyed the different beautiful views during the hike up to the waterfall where they sell delicious organic juice. The house you hike up to for lunch was quite authentic and had a beautiful roof top where you can observe from up close the everyday life of the locals. Be careful to put with lunch included in your reservation, unless you have to pay for this separately in the end. During the ride on the dromedaries, it seemed the animals were treated ok, were and were healthy. At the two last stops you get to see a real peace of desert, and finally to enjoy a last zen tea and a beautiful Arabic sunset! Thank you so much for the good experience, Nassim and Najeem! Greetings from Norway!
Amazing time!

Mustafa, Naseem and Rashid were amazing help throughout the trip. They even helped with our young kid during Atlas mountain hike to the waterfall. The part that I loved the most was drive through the desert in Land Cruiser. Thanks again!
Fantastic tour - highlight of our visit to Marrakech
, Feb 2020
What an epic day - we finished this tour amazed and humbled by everything we saw and did in just one day. Pick up from our hotel was prompt and the vehicle and our driver Hassan were great, the 4wd being in good condition and Hassan a safe pair of hands behind the wheel. The Atlas Mountains and Imlil valley were first with several photo stops and a visit to an argan oil producer. Next, a 2 hour walk through walnut groves and beautiful mountain scenery, including a waterfall, to a Berber village where we had a traditional tagine lunch in the house of our guide, Nassim's, cousin which was tasty and filling. Next a drive along the mountain plateau to our camel ride. The camels all looked in good condition and well cared for and this was a nice experience. We then entered the Agafay desert for some off road driving and tea in a tent as the early evening light painted the desert scenery in a warm glow of orange/red and long shadows. A fantastic end to our day. This was more expensive than many similar tours but more than worth it in terms of being in a small group, not being rushed, having a real personal experience and knowing that the camels used were in good condition. Overall the highlight of our stay in Marrakech by miles and a day that will live long in our memories.
A perfect trip in every way

What an amazing trip! The mountains were beautiful and the lunch was delicious. It was a long day but well worth it. Nassim was the perfect guide: knowledgeable, courteous, helpful. Mohammed was also a great driver and guide. We could not be more pleased. Honestly one of the best experiences I have ever had traveling. I would definitely request Nassim and Mohammed again as guides.
The dream team of Agafay desert
, Jan 2020
An unforgetable full day trip with various unexpected discoveries in the central area of Morroco : we did visit a local market, climbed in the mountain to a waterfall, had lunch in a family home in a remote village, we had a camel ride and finished with some tea at sujet time in the desert ! ! Our guide Nassim did explain everything and brought all type of assistance, he is an expert of the Ilmil district because he was born here. And our driver Hassan Ladib did drive with an incredible hability on the small and winding sand roads and in the desert too. Thanks to Nassim and Hassan the guys of our group really thought they joined a dream team.
Amazing day trip

My girlfriend and I were planning to spend just a week in Morocco, mainly around Marrakech, and so were reluctant to take a long trip to the Sahara etc. This Agafay trip seemed like a great option closer to the city, with lots to do – and we weren’t disappointed! The day started off with some nice views and a visit to an argan oil cooperative, where we were fed some nice argan-related snacks and shown how it all gets made. We also picked up some stuff at the store, but there was no pressure to do so. We then went to the mountain villages where our guide Nassim is from. We walked some small hill paths where we saw village homes, crossed back and forth over streams, saw a waterfall and plenty of snow (it wasn’t cold though, weirdly) and got a lot of fresh mountain air. At the end, we had a tasty traditional meal in a berber family home. We’re both vegetarian and they accommodated this perfectly. Next on our trip was a drive to the edge of the Agafay Desert, where we had a short camel ride. This wasn’t the most exciting part of the trip for me personally, but I know a lot of people are excited to ride a camel while in Morocco. Nassim took photos of everyone during the ride. We could pet the camels after too, which was great – especially a fluffy baby one! After this, we went off-roading before arriving at a small berber desert camp where we had a tea and watched the sun go down. When we were done we drove though the desert where we got some great pictures of the sunset. All in all, it was a full day of activities (and lunch) for a very reasonable price, in a location relatively close to Marrakech city. It ticked a lot of boxes in one go with the berber, mountains, desert, food, camels, tea, argan oil, etc. Nassim had the answers to all of questions and was very fun and friendly, as was everyone else involved. 10/10, would recommend.

The guides are very good, we spent a great time around Marrakech, visiting the Atlas mountains and the Agafay Desert. Ideal if you only one day to spend.
Like a day trip with Family
, Dec 2019
We spent a wonderful day exploring the atlas mountains, Agafay Desert and surrounding area with our driver, Salh and guide, Nassim, who made us feel like we were touring with family members. They made the trip special and memorable. This was genuinely the highlight of our trip to Morocco and couldn't recommend them enough.
The most wonderful experience
, Nov 2019
We have booked this trip as it offered everything we wanted to see all in one day! We had the best time. Our guide Nassim was superb! He was very friendly and informative and he totally made us feel so welcome. We enjoyed the lunch at his cousin's house and seeing how people live. The off-road drive through the desert was just cherry on the top and the driver went above and beyond for us to make perfect pictures with sunset. The tour is absolutely worth every penny and I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone who wants to see the real life outside the craziness of the city. Thank you to both Nassim and the driver for the beautiful day and the memories we took home!
Excellent experience, more than I was expecting
, Oct 2019
Overall: Omar our guide was friendly and helpful, letting you enjoy the tour as you want to. Thoughtful answers to questions. Specific highlights: Pleasant walk through the Berber village, interesting to see inside a real Berber house. Also went farther off-roading into the desert in the Toyota 4x4 than I was expecting (maybe 1 hour total off-road). Other: A little problem in the beginning with a bike race delaying our travel over 1 hour (seems other tour guides were in the same traffic jam also), but they were committed to provide the full tour (just getting back a little later). So they made up for that and I still rate 5. Very reasonable cost for the full experience you get.
