Italy and Switzerland in One Day: Lake Como, Bellagio & Lugano from Milan

The locations and views were gorgeous. We had plenty of time in each location. Mildly disorganized loading up onto the ferry boat with all the other tourists not apart of our group. We nearly were left ashore. It was quite a bit too long and there was no way to get any air on that boat. Overall a great day though.

Fantastic experience and well worth the money but the tour operator was so unorganised. The directions on the booking do not take you to the pick up point so we had to ask for directions from workers in a nearby cafe. It was still another 10 minute walk from where the directions on the booking had took us. Booking said the bus has air con - the bus HAD air con but only if you sat right at the very front. If you were at the back of the bus (like us) the air con was non-existent and no matter how many times we told the hosts to ask to the driver to turn it up it didn’t make any difference. We literally melted the whole day! In Bellagio, we were told to meet at the peer to get the ferry back to Como. There was a queue to get on the ferry and the guide skipped the queue and stood at the front then proceeded to tell us to get to her to get on the ferry. This caused lots of anger to people who had been standing a long time and we were verbally abused - despite trying to explain to those standing we were in a tour group and had been instructed to go to our guide - I can totally understand their frustration and I feel like this was a poor choice of meeting place by the guide. Despite this we still had a lovely day exploring Switzerland and Lake Como. I would recommend taking some Swiss Francs with you if you want to buy anything in Lugano. They do take Euros but may give change in Francs. We didn’t think to change any over but I luckily had my monzo card with me so I didn’t get charged a fee for buying in CHF.

The tour was ok and had enough time however they should be more mindful in reminding everyone to stay in their seats since there was a lot of people fighting for their seats. Once in Bellagio there was a lot of confusion and disorganization to get to the ferri to the point that we did not get to hear any explanation of the area. Also the location we were dropped off was not a safe place. They should drop people off in front of the station not on the back to avoid going to the bad area alone since there is a lot of pick pocket in the area. Unfortunately Lugano was close since it was Sunday and they didn’t not advice us prior to that’s so we could not appreciate Lugano at all.

It is unfortunate that the beauty of the sights on this tour couldn't be enjoyed when off of the bus due to the crowds on the boat around Lake Como. The bus tour was perfect. We were disappointed to find out that all shops are closed in Switzerland on Sundays, but walking around Lugano for an hour was worth the drive. Bellagio was a beautiful island, but too crowded to truly enjoy with limited information about the city. I suggest that there be a location for the tour group to meet the guide before boarding the boat around Lake Como. Instead it was a one hour wait with many others outside of our tour group, worrying about getting on the boat.

I reserved this trip to enjoy a full day and when I clicked on get directions, it takes you to eatry restaurant in a totally different area. By the time we got instructions, the bus has already left. And we tried to text through the app and call the number with no luck.

Beautiful scenery. Bellagio was very beautiful but way to crowded and hot and thus the visit was too long. The boat ride was also very nice but crowded with varying shade. Also too long in the summer. The guide was terrific, discussing geography, history, culture and current events/celebrity villas. Overall trip was beautiful but overrun with tourists in July and way too hot. Suggest tour company supply water at various stops.

Loved Lugano and the quaint streets of Bellagio! The ride around Lake Como was very long and very crowded. It became a little boring toward the end. It was still a very good tour.

If I could give this experience 0 stars I would. I’m a solo female traveler, the trains were down in Italy with no taxis available so I had to ride an electric scooter to the departure point. I tried contacting the tour operator dozens of times, no one answered my calls or messages. I was 8 minutes late and the tour left without me, and is refusing to issue me a refund. Would not recommend! At least give me the refund! Extremely unprofessional with no communication!
