Missing out on our highly-anticipated Alhambra tour
    , Jan 2020
Our party of 4 arrived 10 minutes late for our 9 am tour and found, after much effort at inquiring about why there was no one around to speak to, that the tour had left and we could not join them and there was nothing that could be done--We had not been advised in advance that 10 minutes would have made it impossible to see the Alhambra, to which we had all been looking
    Great guide!

Rafa was an extremely informative guide who went the extra mile to show us all the features of the complex. It is a dual language tour, so that requires some patience, but he did the translations with ease and expediency!
    Good tour, bad communication
    , Oct 2019
Guide knew a lot of details and never stopped talking about the treasures of the Alhambra. He was very enthusiastic and managed the large international group very well. For those troublesome walking, it was a quest. A lot of up and down and firm walk of three hours as there is a lot to see. Communication before departure was not great. We asked some questions via mail as our tour time changed, but answers came as late as only one day upon departure. Previous questions were not answered at all.
It was the only way we could get tickets for that date

Viator canceled our 9 a.m. tour and rescheduled us for 4 p.m. The reason for this change apparently was to combine two groups into one. Our "English" tour was now narrated in both Spanish and English. The guide was informative and gave a lot of good historical information in some places, but we had to wonder how much more we would have learned, or how much more time we could have spent in certain places, if it were all in one language. Also the guide's thick accent and faulty microphone made it hard to understand at times. We had a good amount of time in the palaces, which was very nice, but in other areas, like the Generalife (before the palaces) and after we left the palaces, the tour felt very rushed and barely allowed us to take in what we were seeing. By the time we finished the palaces, the guide had switched his talk to the origin of certain words in Arabic and other languages, and he completely ignored our surroundings. For instance, as we left the palaces, we passed through a beautiful, square courtyard with a large fountain in the middle. I remember from a previous visit years ago that that courtyard and its particular elements are significant, but the guide was going on and on about the origins of the word "witch." He continued on that subject all the way through the outside terraces and past the gardens, which I had learned in my last visit, had been where the workers grew the food for the palace. We heard nothing about that or anything else around us. Then the tour was over. I am grateful we got to make this visit to the Alhambra at all, as general admission tickets were completely sold out on the dates we needed, but I would not ever book with Viator again.

Excellent tour. Great guide.. A little surprised that the tour was in 3 languages: English, French and Spanish. It made the tour take a lot longer than expected.

Dear Elliot, We are happy that you enjoyed the great Alhambra with our guide despite the three languages tour. To give our customer the best experience we did not offer thaht type of tours. Best regards

The tour which was set to start at 10.30 am in the morning was shifted to 9.30 am via email. Accordingly I turned up in front of the pick up point - the mural map at the ticket office an hour early just to avoid the heat. I was left waiting even after the appointed hour because the guide never showed up and I kept asking the information counter staff for assistance and they said they cant help me and that I have to wait for the staff to turn up. Finally I managed to find one of the staff of the Alhambra who asked me for the name of the guide, their contact details or the name of the company which I assumed was Viator none of which I had or were provided beforehand. Finally he managed to contact the staff who after prolonged protraction offered me a tour on the same day at either 1.30 or 3.30 pm on the same day. this completely messed up my itinerary and I had to skip visiting the other monuments I had planned to because I had to live in the evening. The tour guide who turned up at 1.30 didnt even offer an apology. This was quite shoddy and badly organised and left me with feeling bad

Dear customer, We apologize for this inconvenience, it seems that this day our official guide had a severe problem that it´s why he did not show up. It never happens. Our company is contactable H24 at the number written on your voucher. We did our best to find a solution and could contact another guide to offer you the visit. Best regards

A fabulous tour. The Alhambra is amazing, but that goes without saying. I highly recommend taking a tour. We got so much out of the experience due to the knowledge of our guide, Angel. If we had just walked through on our own, we would have missed the history behind and detail within the architecture. My husband and two teenagers loved the tour. Angel was great, fluent in English, and passionate about the Alhambra.

Hi Staci, We are very glad to hear about your wonderful experience with our official guide Angel. We will make sure that he receives those nice words. Angel and our other guides in the Alhambra are here to highlight all the details of the history of the monument. Visiting with a guide is the best way to get to know a place. Thank you again for you feedback. Kind Regards
