Beautiful introduction to opera in an old church in the middle of Florence easy to book and all the artists sang beautifully accompanied by the pianist ❤️

Did this experience because my boyfriend and I thought we needed to have some culture while in Italy. 1 hr of opera was perfect, there were two performers and they sung approx 10 songs. Small glass of wine at entry for 5 euros, and water for 3 euros.

This was a lovely experience! The performers (both vocal and piano) were fabulous! It was just long enough to feel submersed in Italian culture and not feel too dragged out. My whole family enjoyed it!

Fun but hot

We had a great time but there's no AC and it was hotter inside than out. There's 76 chairs inside and it was a full house. They should really think about changing that.

Hiroko Saito was an amazing soprano opera vocalist and Cristiano Manzoni was an amazing pianist. Their tandem was a treat. It was great experience to be able to catch this performance while we were in Florence. Santa Monaca church was a bit warm on an early July summer night but we still thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Everything was just over an hour and a half which was perfect for my husband, daughter and I.

Small but beautiful church, great acoustics, talented singers. Lovely selection of italian opera excerpts. For the price, i would have expected them to put more fans around the church to make the heat more bearable, or to distribute small manual fans maybe, or give a free water to guests.

If you are a lover of music, arts and culture definitely go! Loved that I could experience some beautiful opera and piano in a beautiful city. A bit warm in the church but you adjust once seated. Show is an hour which was a perfect amount to get a taste of the opera scene.

Great glimpse of Italian opera

I booked this concert because I didn't think I could go to Italy without a taste of Italian opera. The concert began well into the evening which meant we could do a lot of sight seeing, and have time to shower and dress. The venue was a charming medieval church on the other side of the Arno from the old city. It lasted about an hour which was just about perfect given our time available. Following the event we had amazing night time views of the Arno on our way back to our AirBNB.

This was a nice way to hear a little bit of opera-singing while you're in Italy. There are not three sisters, as the photo would suggest. On the night we went, there was one singer and one pianist accompanying her. It was a hot day in Florence and a hot night in the old church, which is a bit shabby as it's not used as a church anymore. Only one fan was blowing, and we were lucky to grab seats next to it. The 5-Euro plastic wine glasses of chianti were a sweet touch, if a bit pricey for what they were. The music was simple, and the singer clearly took her work seriously as she belted out classic opera pieces.

Both the pianist and the mezzo/soprano were excellent. They performed a mix of pieces, most I was familiar with- nice to hear in a smaller setting.

Mixed appeal

The soprano has a lovely voice and terrific technique, but the venue was too small for her voice. The pianist seemed bored and rushed through his solo pieces, though he is obviously a very good player.
