Piazza dei Cavalleggeri , Piazza dei Cavalleggeri, 50122 Firenze FI, Italy

Meeting point is in front of Biblioteca Nazionale (National Library) in Piazza dei Cavalleggeri. Look for your guide holding a Walkabout sign.

This activity will end right where it started.
Your Vespa tour will begin in central Florence, where you’ll meet your guide and head straight to our garage for a brief safety overview and practice ride before hitting the road. Saddle up on your original Vintage PK Vespa, a classic model no longer produced, and follow your guide through tree-lined avenues until you reach the hills in the countryside.

Admire panoramic views of Florence from the Church of San Miniato al Monte before taking a peek inside. The Romanesque church hosts an array of incredible artwork and is one of the city’s lesser-known gems.

Continue into the Tuscan hills, past poppy fields and vineyards, with plenty of opportunities to pause for photos. As you travel back toward Florence, pull over at Piazzale Michelangelo, where views of the Arno River and the iconic Duomo stretch out before you.

Conclude your adventure with a Tuscan meal on a private terrace, savoring bites of burrata cheese, bruschetta or meat cold cuts with fennel. Sit back, relax and soak up the Italian spirit before heading back to your original departure point.

Great day in the Tuscan Countryside! Instructors very good and ensured safery at all times. Brilliant day with and great food and wine. We used the double vespar which had plenty of room for those who may not want to ride solo.

SO MUCH FUN- AMAZING SITES

It was an absolutely amazing way to see the Tuscan hillsides. Driving the vintage Vespas was incredibly fun (and easy after the instructions given and brief time to give a test drive before hitting the roads). My 18 year old son and I loved it!! Gabrielle was our guide and he was outstanding. My 80 year old mother rode with me for awhile then felt more comfortable driving in the adorable classic Fiat instead. She had a lovely time as well and really enjoyed the conversation with Gabrielle. We stopped a few times to take in the sites, learn about wine, olive oil and the stunning views. We finished with a lovely meal in the hillside. I can’t say enough about this wonderful tour- it is a MUST DO!!

Gabrielle was a fantastic guide! Bring water and sunscreen and wear closed-toed shoes! This can be done with sandals, but I recommend sneakers. Lunch and wine were delicious, just let them know at the beginning if you have any special dietary needs or restrictions. I also highly recommend you practice slowing down the Vespa during your practice ride. It takes a little getting used to if you're not used to riding them.

What a blast! After a training session and trial ride we were off into the Tuscan countryside. I had no previous experience riding a Vespa or motorcycle but Chris and Alex were great guides and I had no problem driving. They made sure everyone was safe and had an enjoyable experience. Highly recommend this trip! And the stops along the way we’re amazing!

Never ridden a motorbike before, great experience.

I have never ridden a motorbike before. If I'm honest, I was a bit dubious when my wife booked this for us, especially as she'd chosen for us to ride on the same bike. Not only was I to ride something I had never done before but I also was responsible for my wife's safety whilst doing so.... We were taken from the pick up point to a garage where the guide introduced us to the bikes. We were then expected to show we could start the bike and ride it uphill along a road within the garage compound, around 80 metres long, turn round and ride back to him. From this, he'd judge if we were safe to go on the tour. We had to do this with everyone on the tour watching. I could imagine this would be daunting for most people so if the guys read this, my suggestion to you would be to call us out from the garage one at a time. I had no problems howether, and neither did anyone else. The bike was easy to use. I then had an opportunity to do the same run with my wife on the back. That was a very wobbly run which worried her somewhat, but I pursuaded her to give it another go with me and my second run was far better. After we all managed to show the guide we were competent, we then set off. A slow neander around the area took us to a place where we had a delicious pasta ragu and meat and cheese board with a glass of chianti. A slow ride back then ended the tour where we were then dropped back off at the meeting point. More experienced riders complained it was too slow. I had my wife on the back and I'd never done it before, it suited me fine. Some bikes kept conking out but we were briefed this may happen due to the bikes age. I'm not sure how they managed to keep us together as a group but they did, even when some bikes were conking out splitting the group up. They've also got some balls allowing people like myself to do a tour like this, so much potential for accidents, but we had none on ours. We enjoyed ourselves. I had an experience I'd never done before and didn't think was possible without a licence for bikes. We started and finished together so there was some control over what was going on. The guide and his assistant did a good job in my opinion. I'd reccomend this tour to anyone that had never ridden a bike before especially. A great opportunity and a fantastic tour.

Wonderful experience! Great opportunity for a little respite from the bustle of the city. Amazing views of the countryside with a couple opportunities to stop and hear a little about the history and take beautiful photos with great views. Great instruction by Gabriel and finished off with a great lunch and wine at their country estate. Little experience needed to operate the Vespa. Best part of my Italy trip so far. Highly recommend!

Our favorite excursion in Italy - worth the money!
Shanna_N

This was our favorite excursion in Italy! Our guide was Christian and he was excellent - very friendly, informative, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the trip. If you're worried about riding a vespa on the busy streets of Florence, don't worry. They pick you up in the city and transport you 15 minutes out to their garage where you go through necessary training to learn how to drive. Then you're away from the busy city streets when you actually go out and drive - it's much less stressful in that area. Then you have a beautiful scenic drive through the countryside with some nice pit stops along the way. At the end you stop for some pasta and charcuterie on a nice piece of land that they own - which has stunning views! You'll relax, mingle with your group, and be offered authentic local wine. Overall, the tour is about 5 hours (excluding transportation to and from the garage). We felt like we definitely got our money's worth as there was a lot of time actually on the Vespa and also seeing the city from a different vantage point. We felt like this was a fantastic way to spend our time in Florence and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique and fun way of seeing Florence! Oh, and if you're curious about choosing a Fiat 500 vs. Vespa you probably can't go wrong either way but a couple things to consider: The Vespa is automatic, exposes you to the open air/road, and is likely easier to pick-up on learning to drive. Our group had some Fiat 500 drivers and they had to learn how to drive stick shift and the cars don't have AC but instead an open rooftop. Picking what you like is personal preference but how they drive (automatic vs manual) may be something worth considering.

This is an amazing tour! I was a little worried for my wife and I since we had no experience riding a Vespa. However, this worry was quickly removed once we got started. Our guide Chris was super helpful. Everyone is given a driving lesson and a chance to drive in the lot before departing. They give you as long as you need to feel comfortable to be out on the open road. Chris made extra sure that everyone felt safe and confident to drive. My wife did not feel as confident and they had no problem changing our Vespa to a two seater and just letting me drive the two of us. There is an option to drive a vintage fiat instead but they are manual so you need to know how to drive stick if you want to go that route. The tour itself was beautiful. And the lunch provided was pretty good. We got a lot more food then I had imagined and the view at the lunch was beautiful too. Highly recommend this tour! We had a blast!

Vespas on the Tuscan hills
Jacqueline_S
, Jun 2022
If you want to get a close up experience of the Tuscan hillside outside of Florence, then this is your tour. Our convoy of vespas went at a gentle pace that allowed us to appreciate the view you would not get from a car or train. Our stop for lunch at an outdoor location included a charcuterie board and traditional pasta with tomato sauce, plus wine from their winery, which was excellent. We had the option to buy some wine, so leave room in your suitcase! The vespas had lots of pep but they were ‘vintage’ machines. So just know they are not new:) Our guide was very careful and aware of how everyone was doing at all times, thank you!
