Cinque Terre is one of Italy’s most captivating landscapes. Translated as ‘five lands,’ the region is made up of five unique fishing villages that line the Italian Riviera.

Your day trip begins in central Florence, where meet your guide and hop aboard your coach to head out toward the seashore. Stop first in the southernmost village of Riomaggiore, which dates back to the 13th century. Beloved for its local wine and incomparable scenery, admire the pastel-colored buildings as you follow your guide along the cobblestone streets.

Head to the tiny village of Manarola next, home to medieval relics and a plethora of grapevines. Stroll the harbor and take snapshots of the beautiful, bright buildings that cling to the cliff.

Then, weather permitting, hop aboard your boat to travel to Monterosso. If you choose to include lunch with your ticket, settle down in one of the village’s restaurants for a traditional helping of seafood and pasta, complemented by wine and water. (A sample menu can be found in the Itinerary section.)

Afterward, with taste buds and stomach sated, enjoy some time to explore independently. Unpack your bathing suit and hit the jeweled waters of Monterosso’s stunning beaches.

Make a final stop in Vernazza, bordered by terraced olive groves that are said to produce some of the finest olive oil in Italy. Explore the bustling square and winding streets at your leisure, before returning back to Florence.

Note: Cinque Terre low-cost option does not include train and boat tickets.

It was a well organised tour. The guide gave us an overview of each village and we were left to explore each place by ourselves. A little on the expensive side given that they only transport you from place to place but I guess that's the price of convenience. Overall good.

Cinque Terra was beautiful. Our tour guide did a wonderful job keeping us all together and well informed. She was friendly and personable. Transportation once in Cinque Terre is a bit hectic so being part of the tour was nice. I would highly recommend this tour.

Spectacular

Renata (our tour guide) and Mario (our driver) were superb/very professional. It was lovely day that meets all expectations. Beautiful towns and wonderful seaside views. Even with a lot of traveling between buses/trains/boats, it was extraordinary. Renata was very informative about the history and was very clear about meetup times since we had a lot of time in each town to explore on our own away from the group. One thing to note: next time, I wouldn’t choose the lunch portion as part of the trip because there are so many choices away from the tour.

Not worth it

You can just do this yourself in the train. Our guide Antonella was extremely uptight, loud and serious. It was like traveling with your school teacher. She hardly cared about the people and kept bragging about herself throughout. This is when I realised a your guide can make or break your trip and many of us later discussed how we would enjoy the trip if we had a different guide

Helpful with the trains

Our guides were awesome! They were very informative and got us on and off the trains smoothly. The trains were busy and it would have been overwhelming without the guides. We had enough time in each village. Great way to see the villages.

Less would be more

The tour was okay but I feel like “less is more “ , they tried to squeeze in too much in too little time, we made four stops but hardly had time to do anything at each stop , 3 of the stops less than one hour, maybe 45 minutes. The stop in monterosso we had a bit more time and that was good . I have been on my own hiking the trail and everything but I feel like two qualiy stops would give a more quality visit of the area . A large part of the day was hurry up and wait everywhere, every time. Smaller groups would also be helpful. Our bus was also old , worn and dirty.

Great tour!

Shout out to our fantastic and super humourous tour guide Constatino, assistant Stanislava and driver Raul. We were in safe hands all the way even though it looked like ordered chaos. Visited 4 of the 5 villages and spent just enough time at each, which was a great experience. Coach was comfy. High recommended!

Excellent tour!

We highly recommend this tour. It was a great overview of 5 Terre, and made us want to come back & spend more time there. Our guides were excellent and navigated our large group through the other tourists very skillfully. They had wonderful senses of humor too - and each spoke 4-5 languages. There is a significant amount of walking, even if you try to avoid the hills, so be prepared & wear good walking shoes. Thanks for a wonderful day!

Extremely Disappointed 😞
Naseem_S

You could do the same tour on your own with much flexibility. All they did was take you in an air conditiin coach to a station and kept giving you flexible time, and asked you to meet at the station again for the next train. ( all names you could get from their itinerary) There were almost 120 people on this tour and was very unorganized. 2 people were left behind in Minterossa and the guide didn't even realize it till the next destination. He than started to take the roll so that he doesn't once again leave people behind. Also there were no directions given as where to have breakfast on the 1st stop, as it was very early and most of the restaurants open late, there were only 2 restaurants open which served breakfast with very limited seating and long lines for restrooms. You can get train pass for all Cinque terre and could do the same on your own. Also the ferry was cancelled due to the harbor being small and they said most of the time it is cancelled, but we saw boats going to and fro, need to do your own homework. My husband and I would not recommend this trip to anyone. The trains were also very crowded due to 100 to 120 people getting in and out at the same time They almost left us in the train due to the rush and did t realize that we were missing. Not worth your money at all. They charged us almost $100 per person. Whereas you could do this tour for much less on you own, without stress and lot of comfort

Great overview of Cinque Terre. We did end up losing the group at Vernazza and the company did try to get us joined back up but we opted to get a train back to Florence. We had young kids with us and it was very hard to stay with the group getting on and off busy trains. We tried to have a drink and snack at Vernazza but we didn’t have enough time with the service speed and time allotted. Recommend just walking around and not trying to get service.

This was by far one of the best tours ever. We had a chance to visit 4 out of the 5 towns and they were darling. Most of the towns were pretty much the same and sold the same things but we loved going in and out of the shops. We really loved Monyerrolo because we had a few hours to spend at the beach and relax. We rented chairs for $10 each and it was perfect!

Andrea was a fantastic and knowledgeable guide. You can tell she loves what she does! She was very organized and ensured we arrived at each of the 4 villages on our itinerary promptly. Andrea also gave us tips as to what to see and where to go in each location. Would definitely recommend this tour to help choose your favorite villages in Cinque Terre
