    Wonderful experience
    , Nov 2021
This tour is not offered by the cruise lines as availability is limited. Therefore, we booked this as an independent excursion. There is another tour very similar to this one in which you basically float through the caves using innertubes. Everyone is connected and a guide pulls you along. I wanted more of a challenge, a workout and the opportunity to cover more caves so we opted for the kayaks. Abner met us outside the entrance of the cruise ship terminal area holding a VIV sign. From there, we boarded a three row passenger van and headed to the site. From there we were given a life preserver, a hard had with light and our kayak oars. My husband felt his water shoes would not provide adequate support so he opted to rent a pair of crocs from a vendor at the site. In retrospect, I should have done the same. While my water shoes were fine for the hike on the path through the jungle, they did not provide enough support while walking through the river and its rock lined bottom. My recommendation to everyone would be to wear shoes that offer more support than water shoes. In total we forded the river three times before we arrived to our launch location. I am one that likes adventure and history so for me, this was a very unique experience and one that I could learn more about the Mayan culture while in the location they occupied. The day of our tour, Abner announced the water lever in the river was 'perfect' for kayaking. There was a current in the river so we had to paddle to maneuver around rocks and navigate a few white water rapids. Abner said that at any point in the river, the water lever was never over our heads and we could stand up. Also, he said there were no snakes, alligators, etc. The water was cool and very clear. We paddled through several caves and saw many beautiful things. During one transition from a cave to an open air area, I could not help but thinking "Welcome to Jurassic Park." In conclusion, I would have to say this was the most unique excursion I have ever experienced. If you like a bit of adventure, the outdoors and perhaps some Mayan history, I would not hesitate whatsoever to book this tour.
    Lunch does not exist

The experience really was quite good for our adventurous side. You do have to walk across the river multiple times to get to your location, but thankfully they have the kayaks already at the point you get to start with them. LUNCH WAS NOT INCLUDED! NOT MENTIONED, NOT OFFERED, NO WHERE TO BE HAD. We were only dropped back off at the port with only 10 minutes to get through customs and to our shuttle boat, so there was not even a chance to grab local food in the port.

The tours prior to today did not include lunch as restaurants were closed for most of the year, the new ad as seen now does include lunch.
    Terrific trip

The guides were terrific; very knowledgeable and helpful. The kayak trip gave us access to more caves than the tubes and for us was more fun. Lots of things to see.

What a great experience and so very beautiful!! Jeremy and Abner were great tour guides and made this such an enjoyable experience!! They were very helpful with the kayaks and making sure we were all safe and kayaking correctly. They offered to let us buy food before we left to eat on the road, and the food was great! They were very informative about the caves and the area we were in and answered any and all questions that we had! I loved this excursion and would definitely recommend it to anyone and everyone! The caves were beautiful and we were even able to get out at some point and enjoy the water and take more pictures!! I am so thankful for these guys and the tour!! Definitely would recommend this to everyone!!

    Best Belize Cruise Excursion
    , Feb 2020
In consideration of time if you are on a cruise, you will be taking a smaller boat to the port. It takes about 25 mins to the port, depending where your cruise ship docks. Thus, you want to be one of the first one to aboard these small boats. Cruise ship and Belize have different times. Tips: -Keep a watch on boat time -Keep your phone on Belize time -Bring waterproof phone lanyard -Bring water shoes When you purchase the tour, the tour departs on Belize time. Departure of the tour was 09:00AM (Belize time). It is about 1.5 hour drive to the cave resort. On our way there, our tour guide gave us a city tour. The tour guide asked us if we wanted to preorder lunch food from there. On this day it was: rice and beans made with coconut milk, coleslaw, chicken stew + drink for $10USD. At the camp, they had restrooms, changing areas, and merchants selling souvenirs and water related items. Then, you take about a 30 min walk to the river and from there on it’s a beautiful memorable experience that’s worth the commute. Our tour guide made sure we were back 45 min before the last small boat left to the ship so we got back to the port at 03:45 PM (Boat time). Overall for the price and the experience, this tour is well worth it and I would recommend going with this company. Also, I recommend the Kayak experience it’s more enjoyable to have control of where you’re going. My family and I are glad we did. We even added my dad once we got there and paid in cash, because he decided to join us last minute. It’s was $5 extra so if you can book prior.
    Kayak Cave Adventure

Fantastic adventure! Everyone was courteous and helpful. Would recommend it for all ages! Cave was magnificent and the jungle walk although a little longer than I imagined, was interesting and enjoyable. A MUST do when visiting the area.
Kayaking was the way to go
    , Feb 2020
Kayaking was the way to make the most of this unique experience/location. We were able to enter the cave and see more than those in tubes. Our guide was informative, fun, articulate, safe. Wouldn't know what more to ask for.
    Just book it!
    , Feb 2020
We got off the ship very early and had to wait for the others that had booked this tour. I was getting very impatient but the wait was worth it! The transportation to the archeological site was clean and comfortable. The driver (Eddie) was very competent and the lovely lady (Sharon) that gave the commentary during the drive was fantastic. She and Eddie and Lupe did a great job explaining what would happen and their expectations of us. We had a great time and it was a first rate experience. We made it back to the ship in plenty of time. We have done the cave-tubing before but this was a better experience by far and I would highly recommend them!
