Santa Ana Volcano Hiking Tour and Coatepeque Lake visit
Fantastic day trip. Osmaro picked us up at our hotel on time and the adventure began. It’s a vigorous hike to the top of the Santa Ana volcono but the views of the lake in the crater are spectacular.

Santa Ana Volcano Hiking Tour and Coatepeque Lake visit
I absolutely loved this tour. It was very intimate. It was me, my bf and the tour guide. We were picked up from our hotel in San Salvador. Our guide Osmaro was prompt, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. Me and my bf are fairly active, but the hike gave us a run for our money. Round trip it took about 4 hours, but it was well worth it. Absolutely amazing views. If you can get the earliest departure do so. We started our hike at 7:30 and had the place to ourselves to take pics. On our way down we noticed tons of people coming up. Afterwards we had lunch at a nice spot overlooking the lake.

The Maya Tour El Salvador: Joya de Ceren , Tazumal & Coatepeque Lake.
Our tour guide, Francis Espinosa was an incredible young man. He texted us ahead of time to coordinate our hotel pick up. He was incredibly knowledgable, very funny and polite. He was one of the best tour guides I have had in all my years of global touring. Has eagerly awaiting us for our pickup and the first stop at Tazumal was outstanding. We had plenty of time to walk around and see the site. It was not crowded and all COVID precautions were taken. We felt very safe. Our second stop was supposed to be Joya de Ceren, but Francis informed us when he picked us up that the museum was closed due to COVID. As it has been closed for several months, this stop should probably be removed from the tour advertisement, but it was not a concern for us. This stop was replaced by a visit to the archeological park at Casa Blanca. It was a lovely walk with lots of birds and beautiful plants and flowers and trees to see among the pyramids located there. Francis did a great job of explaining everything for us. Our next stop was lunch at an excellent lake-side restaurant at Coatepeque Lake. We stopped for a panoramic photo on the way in. Francis was happy to take photos of us anywhere we asked and we never felt rushed. He let us decide about what we would like to do and see. On the way back to San Salvador, we got a bonus stop in the town of Ataco for a lovely walk and a dessert and coffee. It was the perfect way to conclude our outstanding day of site seeing. Thank you Francis for an amazing day showing us your lovely country.
