Your private day trip to Ouzoud Waterfalls involves less than 3 hours drive from Marrakech. This day trip to Ouzoud Waterfalls excursion will take you towards the east out of Marrakech, the trip starts around 8 a.m from you hotel/riad. Your journey drive will go through the Tadla plains pass by the farms of olive trees. There will a stop along the way for refreshment. Upon your arrival to the village of Ouzoud it is preferable to be accompanied with a local guide who speaks your language. The guide will take you for a walk & trek from the top of the waterfalls to the bottom where you will see the cascades tumble down. While you are walking around you will meet some wild apes along the way, they can get close enough to take some photos.

Ouzoud is the second highest waterfall in Africa after the Victoria Falls in Zambia. There is a guided walk around to the falls with some magnificent scenery to see and photograph. There are several Barbary Apes that live by the Falls and there is often the opportunity to actually feed them. Also Barbary Falcons can sometimes be spotted flying against the cliff face. On arrival at the base of the falls, you can take a short boat trip across the other side to a restaurant and this gives some stunning views of the falls. There are several small shops around the ‘walk’ selling traditional Moroccan ceramics, clothing and beautiful items for the home such as lanterns and decorative candles.
